Amanda visits us

I'm really still completely engulfed with Greek (hence the lack of updates on here), but I thought I'd take a moment from the ancient world of Koine to write about a surprise guest we had last week. Amanda (who's now in Canada for a bit) decided to come down to Chicago and crash with us. I can't tell you how good it was to see someone we knew … after so long. Seriously, more of you need to make the trek to Chicago!

Anyways. Her timing couldn't have been better. She was such a great help, and it was just when I was super busy with Greek (the starting bit). I just got an A for my first semester of Greek, and honestly … I mostly credit that to her! (being around). Thanks Amanda.

Here are some pics of what we did. She also took some videos. If I get some time … I'll upload them too.

I've got to keep this short. For those of you who are wondering what I'm up to besides Greek here's what's coming up for our family:

- end Aug: We're heading to Disneyworld again. Great deal
- Jon Siow and Selina Mok are coming to Chicago (and joining us for Disney)
- May Yen may take a trip to New York (while I watch the kids) .. with Seki
- I start the Fall semester at trinity (So far it looks like i'll be doing Old Testament Survey, The book of Hebrews, Elementary Hebrew, Greek Exegesis I, The book of Proverbs and possibly one more subject … maybe pastoral leadership).
- I head back to Australia for 10 days in October to run a Young Adults Leadership camp and speaking at church (as well as working on all the 2010 planning).
- My dad comes over in Oct (that'll be great)

Also .. all our birthdays are towards the end of the year .. Anyways. thats it from me. Thanks for following my blog. Don't forget to follow me on Twitter. My iPhone no longer takes pictures (long story) so I'm not twitpiccing as often as I would like.

Leave you with this pic of us with Amanda (we went to the beach and I studied Greek while the kids played)
